New Member Firm for DFK Canada
DFK Canada has welcomed a new member firm based in Toronto which has been providing a wide range of accounting and financial services to its clients for more than 50 years.
Fruitman Kates LLP, located in midtown Toronto, has joined DFK Canada and takes the total number of member firms to 13.
The firm was launched in the 1960s by just two partners who looked to create an accountancy practice that would be dedicated to excellence, superior service and could meet the diverse needs of their clients.
It has since grown to have nine partners and 43 members of staff, comprising of seasoned chartered professional accountants and financial professionals.
Partner David Weisdorf said: “We are very pleased to join DFK Canada and look forward to the opportunities that it will bring.
“We were finding an increasing need to connect with other accountancy firms outside of Canada on behalf of our clients, so looked to join a global association.
“We were extremely impressed with DFK Canada, and joining the association means we are able to provide our clients with a referral service to likeminded firms that we not only know by name, but have a relationship with.
“Being internationally affiliated adds prominence to the firm and also gives us the opportunity to collaborate by sharing best practices with other organisations.
“We are also looking forward to contributing to DFK Canada. We run a very lean machine and can share how we achieved our success with other members.”
Nigel Jacobs, President of DFK Canada, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Fruitman Kates to DFK Canada. The firm is a very good fit in terms of their size, quality, the services they offer and their culture.
“Fruitman Kates joining the association will provide great opportunities for both parties, with the firm having the opportunity to learn from DFK Canada and us benefitting from the new ideas they will bring. We now look forward to working with them as we continue to grow DFK Canada and ultimately DFK International.”
